Autonomous Organization Announces the Release of its Tools
The Autonomous Organization, a nonprofit association focused on reinvesting the public interest in the territory of art practice, is pleased to announce the launch of its Tools. The series of tools includes a hammer, drill, screwdriver, utility knife, saw, and tape measure.
Each Tool is handmade and constructed from the Autonomous Organization’s bureaucratic paperwork forming a precise replica of a brand tool currently on the market; each is sold for the equivalent market value of the original product. For example, in the United States, a replica of the Stanley Retractable Blade Knife is sold for $4.19, the knife’s retail price at Home Depot. Each tool is packaged within a uniquely produced cardboard box, including hand-drawn product features and specifications. Prices for the tools range from $2.00-80.00.
The Tools are displayed within a custom-fabricated display case. Made from Plexiglas, its shape is based on the progressive high-density housing project, Habitat 67. Like the housing unit, the display case seeks to maximize counter space real estate, giving each tool a high amount of visibility.
The Tools, their boxes, and their display cases are available immediately for distribution, display, and sale. To purchase a line of Autonomous Organization Tools for your store, please contact: Elysa Lozano at autonomousorganization@gmail.com or 001 831 224 9787.
About Autonomous Organization
Autonomous Organization is an art practice reconfigured as a Not For Profit Organization, whose projects are subject to the over sight of a Board of Directors. It is a device for fragmenting the authoritarian vision of the artist through a collective process, and aligning with and redefining what it means to work in the public interest.
